Job Description:

Role Purpose

The Head of Football at Ballerz is responsible for leading, developing, and delivering all football activity across the venue while acting as a key business builder for the brand. This role ensures that every football experience at Ballerz is high quality, inclusive, safe, commercially effective, and aligned with Ballerz values.

The role combines football leadership, people management, community engagement, and commercial awareness, ensuring pitches are fully utilised, customers have outstanding experiences, and Ballerz is positioned as a leading grassroots and recreational football destination.

Key Objectives

  • Deliver an industry-leading football experience for all guests at Ballerz
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of internal and external coaches
  • Maximise pitch utilisation and football revenue across all time slots
  • Develop strong links with local communities, schools, clubs, and charities
  • Ensure football operations support Ballerz’s wider commercial and brand goals

Core Responsibilities

Football Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead all football activity at Ballerz, ensuring consistent quality across sessions, leagues, events, and programmes
  • Design, organise, and oversee coaching sessions for all ages and abilities
  • Drive innovation in football programming to keep Ballerz fresh, engaging, and competitive
  • Ensure football delivery reflects Ballerz values, brand standards, and customer experience expectations

About The Applicant:

Staff Recruitment & Management

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and manage all internal football staff
  • Recruit and coordinate external qualified coaches and football partners
  • Develop coaches through mentoring, feedback, and performance management
  • Build a strong team culture that promotes professionalism, energy, and collaboration

Business Growth & Pitch Utilisation

  • Take ownership of filling all football time slots across the weekly schedule
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to drive bookings, retention, and repeat business
  • Develop scalable football products including leagues, academies, camps, parties, and community programmes
  • Use KPIs such as utilisation, attendance, retention, and feedback to inform decisions
  • Identify new football opportunities that increase revenue and participation

Community & Partnerships

  • Build meaningful relationships with local schools, clubs, councils, and charities
  • Lead outreach programmes that introduce new audiences to Ballerz
  • Ensure community initiatives align with both social impact and commercial goals
  • Represent Ballerz positively within the local and wider football community

Operations, Safety & Facilities

  • Take responsibility for all football health & safety and pitch-side operations
  • Liaise with Metrix and venue teams to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Organise leagues, fixtures, results, and communication with teams
  • Oversee pitch maintenance, equipment ordering, storage, and upkeep
  • Ensure football areas are presentation-ready at all times
  • Open and close the venue when required
